There’s a new Legionnaire’s Disease outbreak in Illinois… this time, in Champaign-Urbana.
State public health officials say six people have been diagnosed with the respiratory illness, but there’s no additional detail on their condition. The source of the outbreak is also unclear. Officials are looking at several possible locations, including the First Christian Church in Champaign, where some of the patients had attended a wedding.
Legionella bacteria is found in water and can sicken humans when it is inhaled in the form of water vapor.
