Rauner Says He Will Achieve His Objectives In Second Term [AUDIO]

Governor Bruce Rauner insists he will be able to accomplish many of his objectives in a second term… even though he could not get many of them done in his first four years.

In an exclusive live interview on WMAY’s Jim Leach Show, Rauner said he’s confident he can begin to bring down the income tax rate, reach agreement on a new contract with state workers represented by AFSCME, and bring about term limits and fair maps.

But Rauner also says he won’t change his approach to House Speaker Mike Madigan, whom he has repeatedly called “corrupt” and the biggest impediment to change.

Rauner says if Democrat J.B. Pritzker becomes governor with Madigan as speaker, Illinois can… quote… “turn out the lights.”
