The Illinois legislative inspector general says there is not enough evidence to support an allegation of sexual harassment made against a top Illinois lawmaker. An activist named Maryann Loncar had accused Representative Lou Lang of harassing her and blocking legislation she was working on.
Acting inspector general Julie Porter investigated, but Loncar would not agree to be interviewed for that investigation. Now Porter says there is not sufficient evidence to show that the things Loncar claimed actually occurred, or that they amounted to harassment even if they had. Lang… who resigned from his leadership posts after the accusations went public… says he has been fully vindicated.
