U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth is vowing to fight, against long odds, to block President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court. Duckworth joined other female senators and women’s groups in Washington Tuesday to warn that Brett Kavanaugh’s appointment to the High Court would mean decisions that would roll back women’s access to health care.
They say the changes would be especially damaging to women of color. The GOP majority in the Senate plans to hold a confirmation vote on Kavanaugh next month, and it’s unclear where Duckworth and other Democrats could find the votes to block the nomination.
