Illinois Governor's Race Now Ranked As ''Likely Democratic''

A political forecaster now says Illinois is the most likely state to see its governor’s office flip from one party to another in the November election.

Larry Sabato’s “Crystal Ball” column at CenterForPolitics.org moves the state governor’s race from “Lean Democratic” to “Likely Democratic.”

He says that while incumbents usually get the benefit of the doubt in contested races, there are few signs that Republican Governor Bruce Rauner can beat back the challenge from Democrat J.B. Pritzker.
