The rhetoric continues to escalate in the race for Illinois governor. Now Democrat J.B. Pritzker’s campaign has a campaign ad calling Governor Bruce Rauner the “owner” of a company that, quote, “is paid millions to keep children from their parents.”
That follows reporting this week that Rauner has invested in a fund which, in turn, invested in a company that provides health care services to detention centers holding families who came across the border illegally.
But Rauner is not the “owner” of the company, and the company itself does not keep children and parents separated. The Rauner camp says the ad misrepresents the facts and calls on the Pritzker campaign to take down what it calls a “dishonest and shameful ad.”
