The field of contenders for the Democratic nomination for Attorney General continues to grow.
State Senator Kwame Raoul of Chicago announced on Wednesday that he will seek the nomination to replace current AG Lisa Madigan, who has announced she will not run for reelection. Raoul’s announcement is not without controversy, however, after comments last week about Republican candidate Erika Harold seen by at least one legislator as being “blatant and belittling sexism”.
Raoul apologized for those comments during his candidacy announcement Wednesday.
