In Judaism, a “mitzvah” is a good deed or a blessing. And that’s why Springfield’s Jewish community calls its food distribution event Saturday the “Mitzvah Mobile Food Pantry.”
People who need help putting food on the table can come to Temple Brith Shalom on South 4th Street Saturday morning.
Organizers expect to distribute 12- to 14-thousand pounds of food on Saturday.
They will also offer cooking and food preparation demonstrations.
