A 21-year-old man is in custody after an early-morning police chase in which officers say he fired several rounds at the police that were pursuing him.
The incident began shortly before 3am Tuesday when police tried to pull over what they describe as a “suspicious vehicle.”
The driver would not stop… so police backed off and trailed him from a distance.
Eventually, the car went down a dead-end street and turned around, with the driver pointing a gun at police as he drove past. As police renewed the chase, they say the driver fired several rounds.
Finally, using stop sticks and blocking his path, police were able to apprehend the driver. 21-year-old Dossie Baker is in the Sangamon County Jail on multiple charges.
