Sen. Kirk Working With Democrats On Gun Legislation

U.S. Senator Mark Kirk could become a key player in the ongoing gun control debate on Capitol Hill.

 

Kirk is working with two Democratic lawmakers on bipartisan legislation to expand background checks for gun purchases and to clamp down harder on illegal firearms trafficking. 

 

Kirk is also on record in support of an assault weapons ban, although such legislation is seen as having little chance of passing either the U.S. House or Senate.
