He’s most often referred to as a political powerbroker… but now Bill Cellini’s title is federal inmate.
Cellini reported to a prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, Tuesday to start serving a sentence of one year and one day on corruption charges.
Cellini was convicted of taking part in a shakedown scheme tied to the administration of convicted former Governor Rod Blagojevich.
Ironically, Cellini is now being housed at the same prison where former Governor George Ryan is incarcerated.
Their paths are likely to cross, but only briefly… Ryan is scheduled to be released next week and sent to a halfway house in Chicago.
