Lawmakers Race The Clock On Pension Reform

Governor Pat Quinn says there is still time to craft a deal on public pension reform in the few hours left in the current legislative session. 

 

One big stumbling block was removed Friday, when House Speaker Mike Madigan dropped his insistence that the state’s share of teacher pensions be shifted back to local districts. 

 

A House committee will consider revised pension reform language in hearings on Monday.
