  9:00AM 6:00PM The Great Pumpkin Patch   The Great Pumpkin Patch is proud to invite guests to see over 300 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds from over 30 countries around the world; all grown here on our farm. Numerous premier displays, over 5,000 hardy mums, various mazes and gardens grace the grounds. There's a diversity, of plants and animals- with several goats, pigs, exotic chickens, rabbits, a llama and an alpaca. There are several places to eat and drink on the farm and lots of entertainment on the weekends. Named Illinois Agritourism Business of the Year in 2009, The Great Pumpkin Patch is much more than an ordinary pumpkin patch. It is a safe, family-fun atmosphere where learning can take place. Located in the heart of Amish country, 2 miles south and 1/2 mile west of Arthur, they are open from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31 every day, seven days a week, from 9 am to 6 pm. Admission is charged.

It is located just off of I-55, exit 100-B, right next to iWorshipCenter on the north end of Springfield at 3200 Shaler Road; just behind the Farm and Home Supply on N. Dirksen Pkwy. Free hayrides. 5k run, inflatables, pumpkin painting. Admission: Adult (ages 12-up) - $6.00 Child (ages 5-11) - $3.00 Child (ages 4 & under) - free Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lawrence and Lee chose the Scopes ‘”Monkey Trial” to explore the clash between fundamentalists and intellectuals, to make the point that man has the right to think.   12:00PM 5:00PM Get Your Licks on Route 66   The national Get Your Licks on Route 66 adoption tour rolls into APL on Sunday, October 13 from noon to 5 p.m. We'll have lots of great animals from foster and from the shelter - all onsite! Get in some licks of your own with free ice cream, and donate $2 to "spin and win" great prizes on the prize wheel! Don't leave without visiting our great kittens, cats, and dogs looking for great homes!

Become bewitched and beguiled as The Amazing Acro-Cats jump through scary skeleton wreaths, roll pumpkins, leap over tombstones and more delightfully daring feats of agility! Samantha Martin, Master of Scare monies of this troupe of Fiendishly Frightful Felines, fully disproves the notion that “cats can’t be trained.” The majority of The Amazing Acro-Cats were adopted from shelters. Keeping with that tradition, Master Trainer Samantha Martinhas fostered over 120 shelter kittens and trains them not only to perform tricks, but important emergency situation maneuvers. These foster kittens have become a heartwarmingpart of the performance as they eagerly wait for their new fur-ever home!Forever Home Feline Ranch will be holding an Adoption Event in the lobby at each of our performances.
