All Day CWLP Every Drop Counts Poster Contest   City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) is excited to offer its first water conservation poster contest, “Every Drop Counts.” First, second and third grade students in schools located within the City of Springfield are invited to submit entries through their teachers. Posters should demonstrate water conservation in action, highlighting the need for everyone to conserve. Winning posters will be utilized in conjunction with National Drinking Water Week in May to promote the importance of one of our most important natural resources. Teachers should encourage students to draw a picture that illustrates one important point. Students should use large lettering, few words, heavy lines and strong colors. First place winners from each grade level will be given a certificate for a pizza party for their entire classroom. Second and third place winners will receive special award ribbons. In addition, the first 150 students to enter the contest will each receive a complimentary drawstring bag labeled – “SAVE WATER, SAVE ENERGY.” Every student who creates a poster will receive a certificate of participation.
