Earth from Space exhibit at Rock Springs
Macon County Conservation District invites everyone to Rock Springs Nature Center to experience the exhibit Earth from Space. This collection will be displayed in the north exhibit hall until March 4th. Admission is free.
“This new exhibit reveals the fragile earth in a way most people have never considered. The more people look at this exhibit, the more they will see the beauty and incredible diversity.” Program Services Manager Jeff Tish said, “I believe if we all choose at least one thing to do that can help our planet like recycling, riding a bike or even planting a garden, positive changes will happen.”
The Earth from Space exhibit includes two sets of panels from the Smithsonian Institution combining images from both the Earth from Space and Diversity Endangered poster exhibits. The display features large color reproductions of images captured by high-tech satellites constantly circling the globe, recording conditions and events that are nearly impossible to document on the planet’s surface.
For more information about programs at Rock Springs Conservation Area or about the Macon County Conservation District please call 217/423-7708 or visit www.maconcountyconservation.org |
