It took until the seventh inning for the Springfield Sliders to get any runs on the board Monday in Indiana.
Springfield racked up seven in the seventh against the Terre Haute Rex and even took the lead with a homerun in the eighth, but that wasn’t enough to beat the Rex in Indiana Monday.
Sliders manager Pete Romero ended up getting ejected from the game after arguing with the Rex manager and the umpire on the field. The Sliders played the rest of the game under protesting. A review of the incident is ongoing with the commissioner expected to release a report today.
The final in Monday’s game was 10-8.
The Sliders take on the Dubois County Bombers on the road today.
