The number of cases of severe bleeding linked to synthetic cannabis continues to grow. State health officials have now confirmed 131 cases tied to the drug, which was apparently laced with a type of rat poison that inhibits the blood’s ability to clot.

Three people have died from using the drug since the problem first surfaced in early March.

A total of six people have been arrested for distributing the fake weed, sometimes labeled K2 or spice.
