Pawar Ends Campaign For Governor

The crowded field of Democratic contenders for governor has gotten smaller by one.

Chicago Alderman Ameya Pawar is ending his campaign… saying he simply doesn’t have the money to be able to compete on a statewide basis. Pawar says his only options would have been to go into personal debt to help finance the campaign, or to try to run statewide on a shoestring staff… and he decided not to do either.

Instead, Pawar says he is starting a political action committee called One Illinois, which he hopes will encourage young people to organize around progressive ideals.
